SIP Trunks made easy
SIP Trunks – you may have heard of them, or been told you need them, but what are they? And do you need them?
In simple terms, SIP Trunks are needed if you want your PBX (phone system) to be able to make and receive phone calls using your internet connection, rather than using costly telephone lines. SIP Trunks sit between your PBX and the network providers (such as BT, Vodafone, EE, etc.,). They enable calls you make from your phone system to be routed out to the wider telecommunications network. Put simply, SIP Trunking is what enables your phone system to be able to make and receive calls to and from landlines and mobile phones. Without it you won’t be able to make and receive calls on your PBX using your internet connection.
So, if you’re planning on using cloud-based systems (such as Autocab’s Phantom or iCabbi’s DiSC) you’ll need SIP trunks to be able to make and receive calls. YB Communications are the leading provider of SIP trunks to the UK taxi trade, partnering with companies such as Gamma and Voiceflex. We won’t be beaten on like for like pricing.
We offer a range of packages, including SIP trunks with inclusive calls to 01, 02, 03 and 07 numbers.
